Pure Encapsulations Synergy K is a blend of vitamin K1, K2, and D3 to help promote calcium utilization for healthy bones and blood vessel function. Synergy K specifically helps support bone formation, as well as healthy calcium metabolism in vascular tissue for optimal elasticity.
Vitamin K includes a group of compounds with varying absorption, bioavailability, transport and tissue distribution. Vitamin K1, phylloquinone, is the most common form and is found in plants and green vegetables. The vitamin K2 family, menaquinones, are less common and are found in meats, eggs, some cheeses, and fermented food, such as Japanese natto. The most common forms of Vitamin K2 are menaquinone–4 (MK–4) and menaquinone–7 (MK–7). Both are included in Synergy K.
Together, the various forms of vitamin K enhance bone formation by promoting bone mineralization. Adequate intake of vitamin K1 and K2 may be especially important for aging individuals. Vitamin K also helps maintain calcium metabolism in vascular tissues, supporting healthy blood vessels.
