Benefits of the Stainless Steel Ice Cube Tray
Perfect for Homemade Baby Food!
Stainless Steel Ice Cube Trays are perfect for freezing homemade baby food. The frozen cubes make about 1 oz portions, making it easy to give baby just the right amount of food, unlike commercially packaged baby food that creates a lot of waste. You'll feel at ease knowing that your baby is only eating nutrient rich, high quality food from the safest, chemical- and toxin-free metal ice cube trays on the market. Frozen baby food also retains more nutrients than food that is sealed in jars or cans using high temperatures. Just cover filled trays with parchment paper and secure with rubber bands.
Metal Ice Cube Tray: Aluminum vs Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel Ice Cube Trays are safer than aluminum copies for you and your family. The role of heavy metals such as aluminum in causing degenerative neurological diseases like Alzheimer's is not completely understood. Studies have found that those afflicted by Alzheimer's experience elevated levels of aluminum. Although a direct causal link has not been established, aluminum has no useful role in the human body. We prefer not to gamble while waiting another couple decades for the long term health effects of aluminum exposure to become obvious.
Tips for easy use!
These trays are a totally "cool" blast from the past! Originally invented in the 1930s and used widely in the 1950s, stainless steel ice cube trays are the original metal ice cube tray. In case you weren't around in the 1950's, here are some tips to make your life easier:
- Running cold or luke warm water underneath the Stainless Steel Ice Cube Tray helps the ice thaw a bit creating space for the metal ice cube lever to break the ice cubes gently. This makes it much easier to pull the handle and free the ice cubes.
- Run water for 3-4 seconds over top and bottom of tray. When the divider separates from the tray, you may pull the lever to separate the ice. Put tray back in freezer for 5-10 minutes to freeze again if desired.
