It seems like everywhere we turn, butter coffee is all the rage. Signs displaying “add some good fats to your coffee” are now popping up in local cafes and grocery stores around the country---and we’re hooked! This new and improved morning routine has become such a staple, we can’t even imagine coffee “the old way.”
Beyond the trend, there’s definitely a strong case to be made that this delicious drink provides a supercharge beyond the typical caffeine effect. The key component here is that the added fats keep you full longer and kick your day off burning fats for fuel instead of carbohydrates for energy---a metabolic process called ketosis.
Its ingredients include either Grassfed Ghee or grassfed butter and also pure C8 MCT Coconut oil (medium chain triglycerides). We prefer ghee as it’s a bit easier on the digestive system since the milk solids are removed from the butter including casein (milk protein) and lactose (milk sugar). Ghee also contains fat soluble vitamins like K2 which aid in the absorption of nutrients in foods. The MCT oil comes from pure coconut oil which is a special kind of fat that is digested easily and can help fuel cells membranes more easily than other fats.
Why do we love this new and improved coffee so much? The proof is in the results---your brain is focused, your body is energized and your appetite is satiated.
**For those who don’t drink coffee, these healthy fats can also be added to caffeinated or herbal teas.
